Twiddle
Mihali Savoulidis (guitar) and Ryan Dempsey (keyboards) first met at freshman orientation at Castleton State College in Vermont in June 2004. They immediately hit it off musically. When they started school that fall, they formed a band and spent the next few months writing songs. Shortly thereafter they met Brook Jordan, a local phenom drummer out of Rutland, and with the recent addition of bass player Zdenek Gubb have been lighting up crowds all over New England.

Twiddle quickly developed a considerable following after playing several gigs at Castleton State and the University of Vermont. In spring 2005, they blew away the crowd and were unanimously voted the best band at Green Mountain College’s Battle of the Bands. Since then they have packed their touring schedules with weekly gigs at bars, clubs and restaurants across Vermont, Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, and most recently, the heart of New York City. An impressive list of renowned and respected venues includes The Stone Church in New Hampshire, Johnson State and Lyndon State Colleges, College of St. Joseph, Paul Smith’s College, Harvest Moon and SolarFest festivals in Vermont, Killington’s Wobbly Barn, Nectar’s and Higher Ground in Burlington, Rutland's Paramount Theatre, the Vermont State Fair, and so many more.

Next up, Twiddle headline the 800-person Ballroom at Higher Ground and also play Backwoods Pondfest this summer, joining Assembly of Dust, Raq, The Ryan Montbleau Band, Spiritual Rez, and their buddies Lucid and New Groove Orchestra. In addition to their own solo shows and residencies, they've shared the stage with such popular acts as Apollo Sunshine, Jammy Award winners The Breakfast, U-Melt, members of Addison Groove Project, Dave Grippo Funk Band, Gordon Stone, and the Gin Blossoms, to name a few.  Their first CD, “Queen City Live”, features original music recorded live at venues in Burlington, and their full-length studio debut, "Natural Evolution of Consciousness," was released in early 2007.

Twiddle’s musical style is hard to nail down as it taps many parts of the globe for diverse musical and cultural influences. The basic vibe centers on progressive rock, with funk, reggae, jazz, Latin, and even classical elements deftly blended in. Their shows feature much original material, along with uniquely Twiddle renditions of music from other artists as Umphrey's McGee, The String Cheese Incident, Stevie Wonder, Toots and the Maytals, Led Zeppelin, and The Jackson Five.

On the technical side, Twiddle totes along its own first-rate sound system, sound engineer and stage lighting. They all currently write, rehearse, and live together in an old farmhouse in Hubbardton, VT.
